Events at Lake-Noxen Elementary
Lake-Noxen celebrated Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a variety of events. A Scholastic Book Fair was held all week. Students and staff wore ‘shirts with words’, crazy hats, crazy socks, pajamas and slippers and special guest readers visited to read to our classes. Sixth grade students also shared their stories and books with the primary students. Guest readers to Lake-Noxen included Mr. Doerfler, Officer Kotowski, Mr. Kopko, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Boice, and State Representative Karen Boback. Kudos to our Title 1 Reading teachers, Mrs. Becker and Mrs. Ferkel, on our recent ‘Book Walk.’ Teachers and students were invited to decorate their doors to represent their favorite books. Some of the books selected are The Twits, The Rainbow Fish, Harry Potter, and Hunger Games. Mrs. Becker and Mrs. Ferkel led all of the students on a walk through the building to view and discuss the decorated doors. Everyone did a wonderful job and our hallways are truly a celebration of reading! click here for pictures
